General FAQ

What is Aperture Work Coaching?
Aperture Work is a values-driven coaching practice that helps leaders gain clarity, stability, and purpose—so they can lead with integrity and confidence across personal and professional domains.

How is this coaching different from other programs?
We don’t just help you “do” more—we help you become more aware, intentional, and aligned with your values. Our coaching model requires listening and assessment to help clients strengthen their people and their organization – which often leads to durability over time.

Is this coaching only for people of faith?
No. While our foundation is rooted in spiritual wisdom and Christian leadership values, clients from all backgrounds are welcome and can benefit from our services. We’ll meet you where you are and honor your context.

How do I know if I’m ready for coaching?
You don’t need to have everything figured out. If you sense it’s time for change, clarity, or support—that’s enough. Our coaching-readiness assessments can also help you reflect.

What if I already know what to do—do I still need a coach?
Many clients don’t need help with “how,” but with having time and space to think clearly. Coaching provides a companion in your leadership process, not just solutions. Still, we don’t want to “sell you,” we offer our services to those who wish to work with us.

Are you going to fix my problems?
We’re not here to “fix” you or your problems—and coaching is not therapy. Our role is to walk with you, ask thoughtful questions, and help you see your challenges with new clarity. Together, we’ll explore options and build solutions that reflect your values and leadership style. Real transformation comes when the solutions grow out of your insight, not someone else’s prescription.

What does a typical coaching session look like?
There’s no such thing as a typical coaching session because the sessions are as unique as the client and the coach. Still, many sessions include guided conversation, goal-checks, reflection, and sometimes exercises or tools. You should always leave with greater situational clarity and next steps to take.

How long is a coaching engagement?
We offer flexible plans. Most clients start with a 3–6 month commitment to gain momentum, but we tailor everything to your goals and schedule.

Do you offer one-time consultations?
Yes—sometimes a single session can bring a breakthrough. These are available by request.

Can I get coaching for my whole team?
Absolutely. We offer organizational and group coaching for nonprofits, churches, and other organizations seeking clear alignment of their mission and practice.

Is this coaching confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is treated with strict confidentiality and deep respect—within the legal guidelines of the U.S. and the state(s) in which coaching occurs.

Can you help me transition from nonprofit to for-profit coaching or leadership?
Yes—we enjoy coaching leaders through this and other transitions, while preserving their values and voice.

How much time will coaching take each week?
Most sessions are 60–75 minutes, with optional growth work in between. We customize everything to your bandwidth.

What happens after I download an assessment or sign up?
You’ll be offered a next step: a free discovery call or invitation to schedule your first session. No pressure—just conversation.

Do you help with hiring, staff development, or leadership transitions?
Yes. We work with organizations on leader training and development, hiring with clarity, and creating life-giving off-ramps for leaders in transition.

I’m not sure which coaching path is right for me—what should I do?
Try our “Which One Are You?” guide on the homepage to find your best starting point.

Do you offer help with branding or visuals?
Yes. We offer optional coaching around visual identity, branding language, and mission alignment for purpose-driven work.

What are your spiritual foundations?
We’re inspired by wisdom from the Christian Scriptures, particularly themes of growth, stability, calling, and leadership stewardship found throughout Scripture.

Is this therapy?
No. Coaching is not therapy—it’s future-oriented, focused on clarity, growth, and leadership. That said, it often brings emotional insight and relational peace.
